"Beautiful Stranger" is perhaps the one strictly "feel-good" piece of this collection. It very clearly is a commentary on the idea of "love-at-first-sight". The painting highlights queer love and the idea that folks from different backgrounds/worlds can still find love in each other. Often it's overlooked how much strength can be born from that level of openness. I imagined the witch and the merman in this painting: sharing a soft and intimate afternoon under the shade of the tree. Telling candid stories about what it's like to live in each of their worlds. This painting in particular has a lot of green, as green is my favorite color, and it is also the color of the heart chakra. "Beautiful Stranger" by Laufey is the song connected to this piece.
